Samba Oelek is a native Apple TV app that plays videos straight from SMB shares: a NAS, a Raspberry Pi, a Mac or a PC. Pick a device, open a folder, play. There is no media server to install, no account, no library scan and no online cover art. It streams large files without copying them first and seeks in files beyond 4 GiB. Built by Klaus Breyer, who wanted to watch his travel films from a Raspberry Pi share on the couch and found every existing option either too complicated or in need of yet another server.
